Things to know
The best time to travel across Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet is during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when the weather is stable, skies are clear, and mountain views are at their best.
Spring offers mild temperatures and blooming rhododendrons, especially in Nepal and Bhutan. Autumn is considered the ideal season overall, with crisp air and excellent visibility — perfect for trekking and high-altitude journeys, including visits to Mount Kailash.
Tibet is most accessible from May to October, whereas Nepal and Bhutan experience monsoon rains from June to August, making travel less favorable during that period. Winter (December to February) can be quite cold, particularly in Tibet, though it’s still suitable for lower-altitude tours in Nepal and cultural visits in Bhutan.
Booking your trip with Hiking Friends Travel Nepal is simple and secure.
To confirm your reservation, we require a 5% advance payment of the total trip cost. The deposit can be made through PayPal or bank transfer.
Once we receive the booking amount, we will send you a trip confirmation along with all necessary travel information.
The remaining balance can be paid upon your arrival in Nepal, either in cash or through the agreed payment method.
If you have any special requests, preferred dates, or customized itinerary requirements, our team will be happy to assist you throughout the booking process.
Once your trip booking is confirmed with Hiking Friends Travel Nepal, the next steps are simple:
Book your international flight to Kathmandu, Nepal.
Send us your flight details (arrival date, time, and flight number) so we can arrange your airport pickup.
Obtain a Nepal Visa on Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Most nationalities are eligible for a visa on arrival.

After completing the visa process and collecting your luggage, our representative will be waiting for you at the airport arrival area with a Hiking Friends Travel Nepal signboard.
We will transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu and provide a trip briefing before the start of your adventure.

We understand that travel plans can change. Our cancellation policy is simple and transparent:
Free cancellation with a full refund is available if you cancel your trip more than 48 hours before the scheduled start date.
For cancellations made within 48 hours of the trip start date, 2% of the booking amount will be retained as a cancellation fee.
Any approved refund will be processed through the original payment method whenever possible.
If you wish to postpone your trip instead of canceling, we will do our best to accommodate your new travel dates.
If Hiking Friends Travel Nepal cancels your trip due to unforeseen circumstances such as natural disasters, government restrictions, safety concerns, transportation disruptions, or other reasons beyond our control, you will have the following options:
A full refund of all payments made, or
Postpone your trip to a future date without any additional charges, subject to availability.

Hiking Friends Travel Nepal was founded and is operated by a team of professional trekking and tour guides who have been close friends and colleagues for many years. All our guides are government-licensed and have more than 20 years of experience leading treks and tours throughout Nepal.
After spending over two decades working for various trekking and travel companies, we decided to establish our own agency to provide better service to our guests and create a more supportive and fair working environment for guides, porters, and local staff.

Teahouse accommodation is the most common type of lodging on trekking routes in Nepal. Teahouses are locally owned mountain lodges that provide basic but comfortable rooms, meals, and a warm place to rest after a day of trekking.
Most teahouses offer:
Twin-sharing rooms with beds, mattresses, and pillows.
Shared bathrooms (some routes offer attached bathrooms at extra cost).
Dining halls with a stove for warmth during the evenings.
Freshly prepared meals, snacks, tea, coffee, and drinking water.
Charging facilities and Wi-Fi in many locations (may require an additional fee).
The standard of accommodation varies depending on the trekking region and altitude. Popular routes such as the Everest Base Camp Trek, Annapurna Circuit, and Langtang Valley Trek generally have better facilities, while remote areas such as Upper Dolpo, Kanchenjunga, and some parts of Manaslu offer more basic accommodations.
